Landed safe and sound around 11pm local time. Perfect time for a late night walk around the Kuta area. We found dinner at a little street vendor. $9 all up for a serve of fried rice, noodles, 2 beers, and 2 orange juices. Yep... We're definitely in Asia!
The traffic is crazy here, everyone makes up their own rules. The roads are narrow, and the footpaths are packed with people and the many motorbikes that mount the curb as well.
Our first full day saw us take the morning to walk around the Kuta and Legian area. A bit of shopping, good food, and a look at the beach.
In the afternoon we drove out to Uluwatu Monkey Temple.
Next stop, Balangan Beach for a refreshing dip, drinks, and beautiful sunset.
To top off the night we had dinner at Bali Beach Cafe on Jimbaran beach. Eating fresh seafood on the sand, watching the waves crash on the beach, and planes land in the distance. A group of musicians even played for us at our table.
